People Development Manager

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, and part of the People Team, you will work to design and deliver scalable learning and talent development solutions aligned to Unily’s people strategy and our aim to Align, Engage and Develop the best talent in the market. You will partner closely with the Chief People Officer and our global business leaders to understand business needs and deliver impactful learning and development programmes, designed to drive a high performance culture.
This is an exciting opportunity to run the People Development function of a growing global organisation, making it your own and shaping the future of the organisation.
This role can be based from our London or Godalming offices in the UK or our New York office the US.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing the People Development annual budget
- Liaising with business stakeholders on technical training requirements, helping them to prioritise and manage to budget, co-ordinating with external providers, scheduling sessions and managing feedback
- Creation and delivery of a company-wide Development Roadmap, to provide access to development opportunities to a wide range of employees, to include leadership and manager enablement, DE&I offerings and training on relevant skills and competencies to include identifying external providers, negotiating contracts and overseeing the development of content
- Working with key business owners on roll-out and tracking of mandatory trainings on topics such as Information Security, Data Protection and Harassment, using an online LMS system
- Own the creation and development of an internal People Development site on our intranet to create awareness and excitement about our Development offerings, working together with our employee communications expert to drive engagement
- Working closely with the People Partners to build out our approach to talent reviews, succession planning and development opportunities to help top talent achieve their potential
- Monitor trends and best practice in Talent Development and be proactive in recommending enhancements to our offering to drive success
- Provide guidance, support and coaching to managers in identifying and addressing employee and team development needs, providing tools and resources to help teams maximise their performance
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will be:
- An experienced, proactive and creative development professional, with at least five years’ experience in a Development organisation or longer in a strategic HR role with a leaning towards development
- Proven ability to balance the strategic and tactical elements of the role, ensuring high levels of accuracy in terms of organisation and budget, together with the creation of an exciting and inspriring development plan
- A highly effective communicator and influencer, able to coach and challenge our business leaders and help shape our high performance culture
- A confident speaker and facilitator, with excellent presentation skills, and the ability to bring learning content to life in an inspiring way
- Good working knowledge of learning theories, design methodologies and adult learning principles
- A coaching qualification or experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
- A qualification in facilitation and / or a training certification (such as DiSC, StrengthsFinder, MBTI) would be an advantage but not required
